The World Can’t End on 12-21-12! Wave Warriors VI Will Be Released On That Day!

January 11th, 2012

Hi everyone!

Happy 2012!

It’s been a whirlwind of projects, events, trips, and overall life for me these past few months. I’m a strong believer in not only working hard, but playing hard, too. So, often times, I’m out and about on what I like to call a “workcation”. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Gotta get it all done, right?

So, anyway, I apologize if it seemed as if I slipped off the face of the earth.

As many of you already know by now, Hawaii was a huge success as far as getting together the old and the new vanguard of the Wave Warriors. It was great! Though there were some people who plumb forgot about the get-together (Derek Ho and Gavin Beschen!) or were too sick to attend (Shane Beschen) or didn’t even know they were invited (Dusty Payne), and others who, unfortunately, weren’t on the North Shore to take part of it (Archy and Timmy Reyes), we still got quite a few faces to come and participate for the most epic gathering of the best surfers in the world.

Christian and Nathan Fletcher, Bruce Irons, Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, Julian Wilson, Dino and Kolohe Andino, John John Florence, Makua Rothman, Danny Fuller, Tanner, Dane and Pat Gudauskas, Michael and Mason Ho, Alex Knost, Rory Russell, Buttons! I mean, it’s like a who’s who of surf and all these guys were there. So bitchen’.

Not only was this photo shoot a homage to the original iconic photo we took back in 1985, but it was also a kind of stamp of declaration that the filming for a new Wave Warriors film was going into production after several decades of hibernation.

It’s going to be a lot of work but it’s going to be totally worth it. And from judging by all the compliments, responses, and inquiries it seems like many of you have been waiting for this to happen.

So let’s make it happen.
