Greyson’s Own Interpretation Of A Swan Dive
Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011
When we weren't shuttling around from one event to another ("Flip Flops and Popsicles" art presentation at the Tripoli Gallery, and the Hamptons International Film Festival showing of "Savage Beast" and "Supernatural"), our down time was spent hanging out with Julian Schnabel at his palatial Manhattan digs.
While I loved checking out the breathtaking view of the Empire State Building from Julian's living room, and watching Courtney Love dance (per my request) and strum her guitar at Julian's outdoor art studio, after an intense day of skateboarding, Christian and Greyson enjoyed beating down the summer heat by lounging around and swimming in the Schnabel family pool.
Or maybe I should clarify. Greyson so much didn't lounge around and swim; He ran and leaped into thin air, literally making a lasting impression with his photogenic splashes.
Look at him. He's having the time of his life!

There are moments hard to forget. Being with your friends, pushing one another, just going for it. And at my age, I'm still doing it; whether it's surfing with the little guys like my grandson Greyson, or going out with the pros, or the older guys cruising on their longboards, or just filming all the beach girls on their shortboards at San Onofre... I'm still doing it and loving all these moments.
And often times, I'm lucky enough to capture these moments on film. My collaboration with so many surfers, so many of these characters, have led me to believe that things ...

Herbie will be in Oahu this week to promote his "Wrecktangle" board sculpture that's being featured in the lobby of The Waikiki Edition.
Coming from the mastermind of Ian Schrager, The Waikiki Edition is a new type of hotel - kind of like an entity of its own - that's being introduced by the Marriott International. In collaboration with interior designers George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg and landscape designer Deborah Nevins, the Waikiki Edition resides as its own sanctuary on the sand; smack dab near the beaches and Marina shopping districts in a coastal urban sprawl. Truly, a visiting surfer's paradise.
When you walk into the lobby, the first thing that captures your eye is the wall-to-wall "Wrecktangle" pieced ...
It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Montauk Adventure: Surf Finals
Tuesday, November 30th, 2010
Though some of the waves may have lacked in size, you couldn't doubt that Montauk didn't provide for sheer scenery. The lighting, backdrop and white caps all made up for the smaller volume on wave control.
Here are some shots I took on the final day of the Van's Joel Tudor Duct Tape Longboard Invitational.
Bet you never thought New York could be this gorgeous....
